The bolognese was phenomenal! Fresh bread, friendly service, and a great atmosphere. Will be back!
This place is nice, nice spot for hanging with a friend or date! Walked in and we were immediately greeted and sat, make a reservation because you may need it, our server was very attentive and everyone offered suggestions, we were starving so we started with a salad and the deviled eggs, the salad amazing, I believe the dressing is homemade, I added pancetta to mine and it was so good! We ordered the deviled eggs, these are not your typical Deviled eggs, I wasn't a fan of them, they are more Like a boiled eggs of some sort, I also ordered the pizza, And OMGGGGGGGGGGG it was amazing, I could've ordered one to go lol, I also had the bolognese and sangrias, overall everything was amazing, The ambiance, the service, the food, try this place out and you won't be disappointed
Location. Location. Location. Part of the Museum Reach and built into the old Lone Star Brewing Company. Absolutely love the patio overlooking the Riverwalk. Nice breeze. People enjoying a Saturday afternoon downtown. Parking is across the street. You can enter through the museum into the courtyard, or you can go around the museum to the back. The service was spot on. The hostess was approachable and helpful with the drink menu. The waiter was timely and nice. I started with a Saintly Dog and the Deviled Eggs. The grapefruit and lime drink was refreshing, and the deviled eggs were creamy. The truffle oil was a bonus. I followed with gnocchi which had a unique twist with orange and dates. I would have liked the dates cut into smaller prices to match the walnuts. It was hard to get the date and the gnocchi in the same bite. All in all, a good Saturday late afternoon stop!
Nice spot on the river walk. The service was quick and friendly, however a new woman was being trained and for the sake of future guests, I hope she will smile more when she gets comfortable there. I was worried that this was going to be one of those fancy places that charge high prices for small amounts of food. It was that way a little bit, but the amount was filling. We had the deviled eggs which, according to my compatriots, not as good as usual because they used a fine grater for the regiano parmasano cheese instead of the micro plane grater they usually use. I was more focused on the part that they're called deviled eggs when they seem more like medium-boiled eggs cut in half with cheese grated on top with some truffle salt. They were fine, but I'll take the deviled eggs from the church potluck, thank you.
This incredible gem was around the back of an art museum and I'm so glad i stumbled upon on it for daddy daughter date night. At first the building looks atheistically like an extension of the museum and takes some time finding the entryway but it's worth the journey. Fikes, our waitress, was such a delight and kept bringing tasty treats to our table. I can't thank her enough for making conversation with my daughter who is normally shy around strangers. The food was outstanding and was made from scratch. I highly recommend the pasta bolognese which is like a savory destructed lasagne. Overall I was really impressed with this Italian joint and I can't wait to go back when I'm back to San Antonio.
Last meal worthy... top ten for sure. I love this food. The pulled mozzarella is hands down my faveeeeee app everThe Caesar... with the mountain of fresh parm. The bolognese is the best in town. The pizza, so good. How do you choose? Order both and take some home because it's fab leftover. The service is hit or miss but the river view makes up for it!
I'm so thankful we have technology and help to find places like this, I'm not sure how well known it is to other people in SA or those that are not foodies but my goodness friends... this restaurant is SO freaking delicious and cool. So it's a little hidden in that it is behind the art museum, and you have to walk through these gates on the side to get to it. The walk is very enjoyable and let me tell you the VIEWS on the patio are exceptional. Our server was great and talked us through the menu a bit and gave some good recommendations. I do not think you will have a bad dish here, I think it's impossible! I cannot wait to come back, and my compliments to Chef Jason Dady
Outdoor seating is abundant and spacious. The view of the river is stunning. I chose to eat inside at the bar because I just walked 1.5 miles along the river to get here. Chris was the bartender and he was delightful. I went with his recommendation for the crunchy skun trout for lunch ($19) and I'm glad I did. Lunch is a la carte so I added a farrow salad that was doused with parmesan cheese that was light and refreshing. It had hints of walnut that complemented the parm. This is the perfect place to eat if you're visiting the SAMA as it's basically colocated.
